articulated loader

want to load bulk materials into a truck in a few minutes? need to push a pile of dirt or product out of the way of your work? don’t have a lot of room to manuever? the articulated loader is your best bet.

The articulated loader has a master pin located directly in front of the driver, and directly behind the attachment. This simple, yet ingenious design, allows a massive piece of equipment to be able to turn and maneuver in some amazingly tight spaces. By allowing the piece of equipment to swivel, the articulation that is permitted is nothing short of incredible. It should also be noted that that steering is handled through the rear wheels, not the front - this allows the front of the machine to load freely, as the front end is only concerned with dumping, spilling or lifting.

Skid Steer vs. Articulated Loader

Both machines are extremely maneuverable, but if space allows, the articulated loader will outperform the skid steer because of its greater size, and larger engine. It could be argued that the articulated loader can expedite tasks 50% faster than a skid steer due to size and power. The operator also will experience a more comfortable cab in the articulated loader, and this again is due to the greater cab size. The field of view in the articulated loader is greater and easier due to the higher ground clearance, and the open cab design.

Attachments

As the aftermarket produces a variety of attachments for articulated loaders (and many of the other machines listed on this site), the versatility of these machines explodes. There are so many industries that have specific needs for applications, and the aftermarket has not disappointed.

Limitless potential with attachments

The flexibility of these machines to work in dirt, rock, and to be able to then operate on asphalt or concrete, and not destroy the structure under them as would be the case with tracks, and the ability to change out attachments quickly makes these machines very popular for many contracting environments. Being able to drop a 6 yard bucket, attach a large set of forks, and then go back to the bucket, while being able to articulate in very tight quarters makes these machines in high demand.
